Blue Marlin Carrillo Costa Rica

Flamingo and Carrillo Guanacaste Costa Rica, the Blue Marlin averaging about the same size as the Black Marlin of Costa Rican waters has some different features to tell them apart. The Blue Marlin has a longer some what narrower bill, higher dorsal fin, and the biggest difference is the peck fins fold back on command as needed. This picture shows the Blue Marlin in flight with one fin folded in as he takes to the air.
