Why Mr. Trigger???

Fishing since the age of two, “even then taking it seriously", always had a love for the water and fishing for anything that swims in fresh or salt water. From bass fishing in my back yard to moving to Costa Rica fishing for the giant Marlin. Growing up in Sarasota, Florida on the Gulf Of Mexico I fished for other species of fish like tarpon, Snook and Red Fish. My competitive side pushed me to start fishing tournaments a couple years ago being pretty successful in tarpon, winning several local tournaments and the Professional tarpon series in Boca Grand winning a boat. Also have numerous wins in Redfish tournaments and some TV appearances on Fox Sports net for the Top 5 in FLW Redfish Series. Being a crew member on a boat in Los Suenos for a tournament gave me the idea to come back and start a business here. The name Mr. Trigger came from a few guys that have been fishing for a long time in Sarasota, Florida where I grew up. It originated from Geoff Page one of the best guides on the West Coast of Florida and following him Eddie Arsenault my FLW Redfish Series on Fox Sport fishing partner and Mike McDonald team mate of the 2005 Pro Tarpon Tournament series 1st place win. I guess the name came from me leaving work early, skipping school, or just at a jump of a hat dropping anything I was doing to fish with one of these guys. I’ve called in sick when I’m already on my way to work, jumped off bridges and swam to boats even flown from Costa Rica to Miami and drove through the night and slept on a park bench at a boat ramp to meet my team to fish a tournament one time. “Not sure but I bet that’s where it’s from”. So from then on it stuck and now it’s a name come dream job in Costa Rica. TV is another great opportunity I have been involved in here and at home. At home, being on Fox Sports net and the Water Channel in Costa Rica fishing with Ocean Explorer catching the Unofficial World Record Roosterfish with the Host, really got me amped to continue doing TV shows. I am young and only been here for 2 years but If you fish with me you will not only have a great time, catch fish, laugh like crazy, you might also get a chance to see me jump in with one of those incredible Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, or Striped Marlin and revive the big fish while getting some great pictures of the giant fish in his environment as we at Mr. Trigger Charters are a very fine believer of catch and release. Now being in my 3rd year we have come a long way. Selling the 26 foot Morgan and replacing it with a 32 Black Fin will make some huge changes. Throughout the last 3 years we have come a long way releasing over 60 Marlin 12 of them being Black Marlin in the second year (see photo Gallery and Billfish Report.com) and an impressive 100 Rooster fish documented releases weighing in from 10 pounds on 6 pound test to 157 pounds (unofficial world record, see photo gallery) on 30 pound test. We take our business very seriously and know you will enjoy fishing with us whether it is in Carrillo Costa Rica from January through March or 3 hours north in Flamingo Costa Rica from April through December.
